Welcome to Metminco

Metminco (MNC), incorporated in Australia, is an ASX and AIM listed mining exploration company. It is advancing a strong portfolio of exploration projects located in Chile and Peru, mainly focused on copper, but with significant exposure to gold, molybdenum and zinc. Projects range from mine pre-feasibility, through advanced exploration to grassroots exploration.

Metminco’s premier project is the Los Calatos copper and molybdenum porphyry deposit located in southern Peru, near and in a similar geological setting to three large existing copper-molybdenum porphyry mines. Current estimated JORC compliant resources at Los Calatos (announced July 2010) are 926 million tonnes, made up of Indicated Resources of 111 million tonnes at 0.39% Cu and 380ppm Mo and Inferred Resources of 815 million tonnes at 0.37% Cu and 260ppm Mo, at a 0.2% copper cut-off grade. The phase 3 drilling program of 50,000 metres is underway, seeking to extend these resources.

Metminco’s other advanced projects are the Mollacas copper leach project, now ready for a feasibility study, and the Vallecillo porphyry project, including JORC gold-zinc resources and a major copper-gold porphyry target ready for drilling. Both these projects are in Chile, approximately 500km north of Santiago. North of Vallecillo Metminco has two large early stage gold-copper exploration projects: Camaron and Isidro. Finally the early stage Loica copper-molybdenum porphyry project occurs south of Mollacas.
